Myrna Marofsky started Red Book, LLC after selling her 20 year old consulting company. During the sales process, she became aware of all of the things about exit strategies that she "didn't even know she didn't know". As she investigated the subject with other women business owners, she found out she wasn't alone. Conducting interviews, doing research, and talking to experts led her to her newest passion…. to coach women business owners to plan a long term strategy that will result in the achievement of their personal and financial goals.
Why focus on women? It's a fact that more women businesses were created out of a unique passion or desire to carry out a mission. Generally, women do not acquire business like men do, but start them. Since they are the "founders" they typically believe that they will run the company forever. Then one day they get an offer out of the blue, or they are tired, bored, or find themselves in a desperate situation, and they have no plan in place to receive the top dollar for their hard work. Had they begun thinking about an exit strategy as they were growing the business they would be ready to act when the time is right.
Through Red Book, Myrna guides women business owners through a process to leverage, their core business, determine and deploy mid-term strategies for growth, while keeping focused on a their long term goal of an exit or transition. She acts as their coach, holding them accountable as they put the strategy into action. Whether the sale happens in the near-term or in the future, strategies deployed while growing a business will yield higher valuation when the time comes to sell.
